Natty Narwhal Amigurumi

Standard

Ok, so… I made this wicked sick narwhal amigurumi and named it Natty (after the Ubuntu mascot cuz I’m a geek like that) I did it freehand and kinda just winged (wung? lol) it, but here’s a basic pattern for y’all so you too can have a unicorn of the sea 😀

NOTE: Most of this pattern is seamless, so be brave!

MAIN BODY: Ch2

R1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook

R2: 2 sc in each st around (12st)

R3: 1 sc in next, 2 sc in next, Rep around (24st)

R4: 1 sc in next 2 st, 2 sc in next st (48st)

R5: sc around. Rep 5X

R6: 2 sc in next, 1 sc2tog over next 2 st

(if you want to do the fins in seamlessly, here’s right about where to do it… Ch 7, turn, 2 sc, 5 hdc, sc into main body(outside loop only)… turn, 5 hdc, 2 sc, ch 1, turn… 1 slst, 1 sc, 5 hdc, 1 sc into main body(outside loop only)… sc halfway around and rep. for second fin)

R7: sc around. Rep 7X

Stuff firmly! Extra firm if you don’t want to try to stuff into a teeny tiny hole (you can squish the polyfill around at the end to make it even)

R8: 1 sc in next, 1 sc2tog over next 2 st.

R9: sc around. Rep 5X

R10: 1 sc in next, 1 sc2tog over next 2 st.

R11: sc around. Rep 5X

R12: 1 sc in next, 1 sc2tog over next 2 st.

R13: sc2tog until closed.

Pinch ends of tail together and sc (vertical line) should be about 3-4 st. Tie off.

TAIL FIN: Join yarn with sc, 2 more sc along tail seam (only in loops facing you)

R1: ch 1, turn, sc across

R2: Rep R1

R3: Rep R1

R4: ch 2, turn, sc across

R5: Rep R2

R6: Rep R2

R6: turn, sc across

R7: Rep R6

R8: Rep R6

Tie off. Repeat for second tail fin.

HORN: Ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook

R1: 2 sc in each st around (12 st)

R2: sc around. Rep 10X

R3: 2 sc in next st, 1 sc2tog in next st.

Fill very firmly…

R4: sc around. Rep 5X

R5: 1 sc in next st, 1 sc2tog in next st.

R6: sc around. Rep 3-5X

R7: sc2tog until closed

FINISHING: sew eyes on, sew horn on, snip snap done!

Let me know how this pattern works out for you! If you have any suggestions, additions, or fixes, please don’t hesitate to let me know 🙂

Gnomeo Hat

Standard

This is a CUTE li’l number I whipped up real quick. It’s super quick and easy 🙂 To get the marbled affect I twisted a sport yarn around a worsted weight yarn. Excellent coloration with minor volume change 🙂 This is great because it can easily be made in any size!! If you need help determining how large to make your hat, try this site on for size: http://www.walkabout.com/shop/size_hat.asp

RIBBED BAND: Ch 10

R1: sc across, ch1, turn

R2: Rep until you reach desired circumfrence.

sc the seam together (make a circle)

R3: sc across the top of ribbed band

R4: hdc around 5-10X (depends on how tall you want it… I did 6)

R5: 1 hdc in next st, 1 hdc2tog over next 2 st

R6: hdc around 3-5X (i did 3)

R7: 1 hdc in next st, 1 hdc2tog over next 2 st

R8: hdc around 5X

FINISHING:

Pinch top together and sc closed. Tie off. I turned mine inside out, but it looks cool either way.

As always, any questions, suggestions, and fixes are welcome!

Enjoy and Happy Hooking!
